How Our Process Works

      Establish and Define the Relationship with the Client                                                                                                                                                

            Defining the Scope of the Engagement

          GMR Strategic Financial and the client mutually define the scope of the engagement before any financial planning service is provided after a One-to-One Session.

      Gather Client Data                                                                                                                                                                                                                

            Determining the Client’s Personal and Financial Goals, Needs and Priorities

          GMR Strategic Financial and the client mutually define the client’s personal and financial goals, needs and priorities that are relevant to the scope of the engagement before any recommendation is made and/or implemented.

            Obtaining Quantitative Information and Documents

          GMR Strategic Financial obtains sufficient quantitative information and documents about a client relevant to the scope of the engagement before any recommendation is made and/or implemented. We will provide you a Data Gathering Questionnaire to assist you in compiling the information we will need to begin the planning process. This questionnaire is as user friendly as possible but may be intimidating to some. However, we are here to help you through the process.  Ultimately, the success of any financial planning process depends on the accuracy and completeness of this information. We recognize that no one has all of this information readily at hand, nor even considered many of the factors. Please do the best you can with the information form and the gathering of the appropriate documents. Do not worry about any omissions. Whenever you are not certain an item applies to you, simply place a large question mark in the margin. It will be covered in the meeting. Items which we discuss will all be covered in the written interview notes which you will receive subsequently.  We'll also provide you with a list of documents that we'll need. You can either send or bring in your originals and we'll copy them and return the originals or you can send us copies.

      Analyze and Evaluate Client's Financial Status                                                                                                                                                           

            Analyzing and Evaluating the Client’s Financial Situation

          GMR Strategic Financial analyzes the information to gain an understanding of the client’s financial situation and then evaluates to what extent the client’s goals, needs and priorities can be met by the client’s resources and current course of action. Once all of your information has been received, GMR will start a preliminary analysis. This includes developing a detailed spreadsheet of all of current cash flow and financial statements and completing a preliminary goals-based financial plan. Depending on your unique goals and circumstances, we may model a number of alternative scenarios. Along the way, you will receive phone calls from us to verify your information.

Analyzing and Evaluating the Client’s Risk Tolerance

GMR Strategic Financial analyzes the information to gain an understanding of the client’s risk tolerance to provide perspective to potential current courses of action given the  client’s goals, needs and priorities. As we proceed with the analytical process, we will arrange a time to meet with you to go through our Risk Assessment process. This is a meeting that lasts about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. This meeting is based on mutually working through a Risk Assessment Questionnaire. The dual goals of this process are to help you learn about the various factors all investors face and to help us understand your risk tolerance to market risks.

Develop and Present the Financial Planning Recommendation (s)                                                                                                               

            Identifying and Evaluating Financial Planning Alternative (s)

          GMR Strategic Financial considers sufficient and relevant alternatives to the client’s current course of action in an effort to reasonably meet the client’s goals, needs and priorities.

          Developing the Financial Planning Recommendation (s)

          GMR Strategic Financial develops the recommendation(s) based on the selected alternative(s) and the current course of action in an effort to reasonably achieve the client’s goals, needs and priorities.                                     

          Presenting the Financial Planning Recommendation(s)

          GMR Strategic Financial communicates the recommendation(s) in a manner and to an extent reasonably necessary to assist the client in making an informed decision.

       Implement the Financial Planning Recommendation (s)                                                                                                                                          

            Agreeing on Implementation Responsibilities

GMR Strategic Financial and the client mutually agree on the implementation responsibilities consistent with the scope of the engagement. Any other planning issues or concerns will be dealt with by priority on a quarterly basis, based on services agreed to and outlined in our financial planning/wealth advisory agreement. (See Sample Agreement)

          Selecting Products and Services for Implementation

          GMR Strategic Financial and client review appropriate products and services that are consistent with the client’s goals, needs and priorities.
